Kotor receives nomination for "European Best Destination 2019" after the excellent result achieved in 2018 in a competition conducted by European Best Destinations - EBD.
European Best Destinations is an organization based in Brussels and developed to promote culture and tourism in Europe. In partnership with more than 300 participating tourism offices and the EDEN Network created by the European Commission, that promotes a better understanding of the wealth, diversity and quality of European destinations. EBD is for the 6th year in a row, the most visited website dedicated to tourism in Europe.
Kotor, for the title of the European Best Destination in 2019, competes with Brussels, Budapest, Malaga, Bratislava, Vienna, Poznan, Braga, Berlin, Geneva, London, Metz, Monte-Isola, Riga, Paris, Dinant, Florence, Cavtat, Sainte-Maxime and Athens.
In 2018, Kotor came in 12th place, with more votes than Paris, Vienna and Amsterdam, when Wroclaw took first place. The nomination and placement are the result of continuous communication of the Tourism Organization of Kotor with European networks of promotion of cultural tourism, and this is the only Montenegrin city on this list.
